Beginner Triathlon Clinic
Dan McTainsh Triathlon Squad (DMT Squad) will be launching its second beginner program for 2021 over the period 9th October - 28th November.
This 6-week program is for the recreational athlete who has their eyes set on either doing their first triathlon or maybe you've done 1 or 2 triathlons yourself, without any coaching, and want to pick up some new ideas and tips to enhance your racing experience. Experienced triathlete and Head Coach Dan McTainsh and Assistant Coach Anthony Fletcher, will progressively guide you through the multi-discipline training to reach the goal of completing the Bribie Island Triathlon at the end of November.
Your training experience will include one beginner only coached session per week, plus free access to all our other weekly coached sessions. The weekly beginner coached sessions will be held on Saturdays as per the schedule below. The program will gradually progress you through all triathlon disciplines of swim,bike,run plus incorporate 'brick' sessions where we start to merge one discipline with the next to get you ready to take on a full triathlon at the Bribie Island Triathlon at the end of the program.
The DMT squad beginner clinic includes:
* 6x1-2hr coached sessions covering pool and open water swimming, triathlon specific bike skills, transition skills, run intervals and a full triathlon race day simulation prior to competing at the Bribie Island Triathlon;
* SIGN ON day information get together to discuss the program in more detail and to answer any individual questions;
* RACE DAY SUPPORT: Both of our coaches will be with you on race day to guide you through the registration, transition setup process and also get you warmed up ready to race. We'll also be able to assist with any race day issues that may pop up.
* DISCOUNTE continuation program. If it turns out that you love your triathlon training and racing experience we'll be offering a heavily discounted continuation training program for you to follow in your own time and also discounts on weekly coached sessions.
