This program consists of 3 sessions per week structured as:
Session 1 - Upper body push/pull strength
Session 2 - Bike focused lower body strength
Session 3 - Upper body overhead push/pull strength
The program is further structured into 3x4 week progression training blocks which take you through well thought out gradual progressions of volume and intensity to ensure you are constantly getting stronger through the off season.
If there is one thing constant with triathlon and life it is that strength underpins everything we do. If you rely solely on your swim/bike and run to develop fitness and strength you will find that you will quite quickly hit a plateau and as you get older your fitness will go backwards rapidly without this strength training.
